Review: Boho Cafe

My new girl gang here bears much resemblance to my home friends: these girls like to have fun, have passion and enviable qualities and, of course, appreciate good coffee. So when I came across Boho Cafe while researching good coffee in Rabat, I decided to drag them all along with me to try it out. More people equals more mouths to feed, and more opinions to consider, right?

Right, indeed. Thankfully I brought my pals along with me, because there’s no way I could have tried everything on my own - and believe me, it was all well worth tasting. This spot, neatly tucked away on a gorgeous little side street in the centre of the city, offers quite possibly one of my favourite brunches I’ve tasted ever, and not just in Rabat.

Most of us went for their Bohemian Lovers brunch, complete with a mini granola bowl, main dish, patisserie treat as well as both a hot and cold beverage. The granola bowl was packed with delicious, fresh fruits and provided a sweet counterpart to the variety of main dish options. Highlights for us included the sweet potato waffles, acai bowl, and the avocado toast.

As for the coffee, which is evidently of vital importance, I wasn’t disappointed. So far, it’s the only oat milk latte I’ve been able to source since arriving in Morocco, and I was so delighted I could barely contain my excitement. The matcha latte was also fabulous, if you’re looking for something a little different, and I’d also recommend the bissap, a sweet and refreshing juice with hibiscus. There’s certainly a little something for everyone.

The true cherry on top was their sweet treat selection. The moreish cookies, moist cake and decadent banana bread were a sight for sore eyes - we were practically drooling at the selection. A group consensus recommends the lemon poppyseed cake and the cookies - we’ll most certainly be back for more.

For wonderful food, excellent service and, above all, a welcoming and buzzing ambiance, Boho Cafe is the place to be - an absolute go-to if you’re visiting Rabat.
