Real-Life Mamma Mia: A Photobook Sep 16 Written By Erin Waks By Erin Deborah Waks While I find in general that most Greek food is outstanding, this restaurant we visited was incomparable. Not only was the atmosphere at Karabelládika, nestled in the tiny village of Koskinou, one of joyous celebration and elite al-freso dining, but the food itself was on a whole different level. My case in point. Pictured here are the honey-soaked baked feta, a classic Greek delicacy, and a freshly baked loaf of bread with garlic butter and kalamata olives. Wholesome and made on site, our group of four managed to devour the entire loaf - and that was even before the arrival of our lamb, orzo, dolmades and Greek salad. Here I am soaking up some rays on the beach in Rhodes. Make-up free and well covered in the shade, you know the only bright red this girl will sport is in the shape of a bikini... Walking the beautiful streets of Koskinou with its cobbled stones, blue windows, overgrown flowers and perfect sunset behind the whitewashed buildings. I made a little friend, with the softest white skin and most piercing eyes. She delicately nuzzled into my leg, and I managed to capture her peaceful gaze off into the distance just moments later. Dusk settles as we make our way to dinner near Faliriki. An almost-candid shot taken by my brother on the balcony of our hotel. It may be slightly dark, but the colours of the sea and sky combine perfectly to make almost identical and yet differently textured shades of blue. The sunset from the hotel lobby at the Rhodos Palladium. Palm trees and greenery with a very pink me, captured by my brother. All photography is my own unless otherwise specified. Erin Waks
